Alterman doesn't define his gambit books a repertoire at all. He just says let's use the gambits for what they can teach us. Which is probably one of the secrets GM and IM don't teach.

thx a lot. i didnt want to suggest that he did so. im just weak at openings and thought that book would be good enough and i might not need to start with learning different openings right now with it

No, then you need to buy one book for white and one for black of opening repertoire, like the one of Alburt, Dzindzi et al, they give a good repertoire. However, from your rating I wouldn't concentrate on openings at all. Just learn about tactics and it will help you to reach the stage (when you reach about 1600) you need to know something about the endgame and middlegame, and then if you do tournaments buy the opening books. Maybe it is also better to learn about opening principles. Because if you get a book about openings, and then they tell you: white is better, and you don't know why, then you will not know what to do with that information.

my chesstempo rating is 1800 but yeah i still suck, the problem if you play no good openings you get little play in the middlegame... at least not against good opponents... ill learn tactics every day but i also need openings, i think middlegame i will learn with more complex puzzles.. yes i need more endgame but i think opening is more important than endgame.. because you still can win with basic endgame knowledge but it gets really difficult to win with only basic opening knowledge...
