Is there a tactic program that has a table of contents so you can choose what to work on?

All my tactics books have separate chapters on things like discovery, removal of the guard, pins, skewers, forks, back rank combinations, etc. And you can work on problems they give you for each tactic. Now I realize that in a game no one points these out to you.

I would like some software, free or otherwise, that has a section on each of these tactics so I could drill - drill - drill . That way I could spot a queen fork in an instant, or figure out easily how to remove the defender.  Just by doing the drills on each tactic group.

Most of the programs I see say, "What is the best move for White?"  That's fine.

But I am feeling the need for something a little different.

Anyone?

Wow. I just looked. It is very close to what I want. I am a paid member but have never checked out the Computer Workout.

Thank you so much for telling me about it.

I have seen <that site>. But there doesn't seem to be any way to focus on a particular tactic. Or is there? If there is an index or list of tactics to click on, I can't find it.

On <that site> you can do particular tactics and much more if you get a membership. Without one you just have unlimited tactics.

On the web site, does it tell about getting a membership and what it would include? Also how much does it cost?

Please don't post links to, and names of other chess sites in the forums here. Thanks.

Sorry.

It says about what can a membership give, it costs $20 or $35 per year (silver and gold).

I think it's better practice when you don't know what's coming. If you're doing a bunch of pin problems, you know you're looking for a pin and you'll spot it quicker and easier.

I haven't used my copy lately but this description of CT-Art 3.0 sounds like what you want.
