There is Chess at the Top: 1979-1984 by Karpov. I recently ordered this book, but have not begun studying it yet. It looks like the notes are by him, though.
Karpov's Books
I just ordered "My Best Games (Progress in Chess)" on Amazon. It's fairly recent (2008) and annotated by Karpov. I can't say if it's good or not, but it looks promising!

Thanks. Please do let me know what you think about those books after you have read them. It's a pity that such a great player like Karpov leaves very little useful written material.

Thanks, I have heard good things about Mednis' book on Karpov, and I am thinking about placing an order.
However, I really think that the great Karpov should set aside some time to write a good book, and leave a worthy legacy for the younger generations. After all, Karpov isn't just some world champions. Karpov is one of the chess legends. Of all the world champions I know, Karpov's style is the most unique. He often choose some weird and questionable moves, and won the game with them. People often compare his style to Capablanca's, but I think their styles are different. Capa's style is very clear and direct. Karpov's style is ... well, just strange. There is something mysterious about some of the moves he made.
Not written by Karpov, but Endgame Virtuoso Anatoly Karpv
By Tibor Karolyi and Nick Aplin
An excellent book on 105 of Karpovs best endgames.

I realsie this is an old post, but for anybody interested I have just recently got this book and can't recommend it enough. Annotations are from Karpov himself and of good quality. Also the book is beautifully printed and laid out, though of course it is the games that are important and 100 best games of Karpov speaks for itself.
Hi,
Is there any chess book written by Karpov that is worth reading? I found a number of books bearing Karpov's name as a co-author, but I have my doubt to Karpov's actual involvement in writing the books. The one I have "Finding the right plan" is quite a disappointment.
Thanks.
