Lil chess partner
With respect to beating Little Chess Partner on "hard", I have worked out every major opening down to a forced mate when I play 1. e4 as White. He seems particulary inept at allowing me to open the h file when I am conducting a pawn storm against his kingside, often allowing a quick mate where keeping the position closed would offer much more prolonged resistance. The most effective systems are those where I play an early f4 and maintain the e-pawn on e5 - Closed Sicilian and Chigorin-French type openings are especially good. I would be happy to share specific lines with anyone who is frustrated by not being able to beat him consistently.
The problem with all of this is that he just isn't suitable as an opponent to try out the really critical sharp lines, as in those systems he virtually always seems to deviate early with inferior moves. For example, if you want practice as White with the KGA, he accepts the pawn but then plays 3... Nc6, leading to positions that are almost never encountered in contemporary King's Gambit praxis. This sort of thing seriously limits Little Chess Partner's value in working out opening systems over the board.
