Hello. I am looking for a Garde Ruhla wooden analog chess clock. I'm not interested in the "Classic" model that was engineered in Germany but made in China. But rather I'd like to find a prior model or older.
Is there anyone out there who'd be willing to part with one for some $$?
Looking for Garde Ruhla wooden chess clock to Buy$$

Do new ones of these still exist?
Made in China "new"?
Sure. £65.99 (£54.99 Ex.VAT)
Thanks, I’ve seen that link. I was checking some out on EBay, but prices are very varied if not wild…..I’d like something actually manufactured in GDR…..

They are no longer made in Germany. Best bet is to sit on eBay and wait for a one in good condition to come up. Earlier models often need some mechanical attention/maintenance due to age. I'd recommend focusing on more recent made in Germany models and paying the extra for one in barely used condition. I picked up one in excellent condition a few weeks ago. I have a few older ones that run but need to be opened up, cleaned and lubricated.

$70 USD+ shipping if you find a great deal, $120 USD +shipping if it is in excellent running condition seems reasonable to me too. Spending a little more for something nice right off the bat may save you a lot of hassle and months of time searching for a lower priced gem, but that is up to you. Familiarize yourself with the different markings on the Garde clock faces over the years, that is the easiest way to tell which time period the clocks are from. There are posts and pages on the internet describing this somewhere if you want to dig around for them. The early period clocks in some ways are 'nicer' and more collectable, but I think the later ones are more likely to run better if you plan to actually use it.

I love old analog clocks. I have not gotten a Garde yet, but I did recently pick up a MOM from the 60's probably, and in superb condition from a seller in Austria. He was great and the clock is great looking and runs well too. I should be taking a few photos soon and will post in this section of the forums when I get a chance. I hope you find what you are looking for. The seller also has a virtual chess clock museum that has a bunch of fine examples. Here is the webpage - www.chess-clocks.at

Nice link , Thanks , I to like old analog chess clocks , After QG the prices had really gone up ,
At my club we finally are phasing out the last remnants of the analogue era. They are from the late 90ies, manufactured in Germany when Garde took up production again in 1995.
They are used but they were prohibited to be used for play at the club evenings, to preserve them for league play. Instead plastic BHB‘s took the Blitz beating…I wonder why we don‘t have these anymore.
PM me if you are interested to know more about the clocks.
