Looking for this set from House of Staunton from a seller within EU

Hello all.

I'm located in Europe so I'm searching to buy The Championship Series Chess Pieces - 3.75" King but from a seller inside the EU, in order to avoid huge custom taxes.

Any suggestions please?

Thanks in advance.

Horace

Official Staunton has a similar set.  I have no idea what the tax situation might be from them.  Good luck with your search.

this set is modeled after the DGT Timeless pieces. Copies (usually w/ minor variations) are available from a plethora of vendors. Here's a German vendor selling a similar set:

I've bought over 15 sets from chessbazaar & had never paid any taxes. I'm recommending you CB over HOS because fortunately, this set is currently at whopping 54% discount right now & on the top of that, they are also offering free international shipping on it. Here's the link: https://www.chessbazaar.com/tournament-series-staunton-chess-pieces-with-german-knight-in-sheesham-box-wood-3-7-king.html

You can check ebay as well for a better deal.

Prost!!

It seems like to me that free international shipping is not actually free but more likely built into the price as it’s not an inexpensive item. Have any Canadians purchased from Chess Bazaar and found their claim of no additional costs to be true? As for Canadian Customs duty costs I don’t know enough to understand if that would come into play or not but every time I fly home from Europe I fill out a card that reminds me there are import limits.
