Many thanks, Ron! That's a great contrast!
Matching HoS Golden Rosewood And A Board
Remember that the pieces are actually more golden brown and the board squares have more red in them as they are mahogany.
When I put those pieces and board together they are a perfect complement.

I am getting a set and board that I used to own and gave to my first teacher. The pieces are the HoS Professional Series in Rosewood and the board is a solid wood bubinga and curly maple that I made with my neighbor that had major woodworking tools in his garage, 12 years ago. I plan on playing with that set next week and will have pictures then as well.
A short time ago cgrau asked me to show some pics of the wood colors and types of board that I have matched with Sheesham and Rosewood.
I decided to use my sets in a tournament I am directing at our club on Monday evenings.
Tonight I played with my HoS Fischer-Spassky set in what they call Golden Rosewood but we simply call Sheesham.
I have this set paired with a HoS Maple and Mahogany folding board which I believe matches excellently.
We play in a local hotel meeting room and in that lighting the Sheesham and Maple look darker in the photos than in real life. The pieces are definitely more golden colored in real life than in the pics.
