Millennium Board with Fritz?

I have a DGT USB board that I use with Fritz and while the functionality is perfect for me I struggle with the size of the board. I am considering a switch to the Millennium with the ChessLink module but I've not seen much feedback from users that have successfully configured with Fritz.

Anyone?

When I got my Exclusive board a few years ago I contacted CB about Fritz compatibility, and was told they have no plans for Millennium support. I’m guessing Millennium would be touting Fritz playability if it were available. I ended up buying HIARCS for iPad, and it works nicely for me.

I've been in touch with CB several times about getting my Millennium, Certabo, Novag and DGT drivers working in Fritz and they don't seem interested. Fritz works with the DGT Rabbit Plugin and is coded to make sure only that is used.

Your only option is to use a UCI "engine" to control the board in an engine vs. engine game. Lars has one for the Millennium boards:

Or you could switch to Shredder or LucasChess!

Maybe Chessbase and DGT has some form of partnership that's why they don't support other e-board brands. Can DGT Pegasus connect to Fritz GUI?

Lucas chess supports Millennium.

Unfortunately not. It's the same problem as my other drivers: Fritz and Chessbase don't support anything other than the real DGT Rabbit software. So although my Pegasus driver works in Arena, LucasChess and Shredder it doesn't, and probably never will, work in Fritz.

I'm waiting for ChessUp this coming April 2022. The manufacturer of the ChessUp board said they will allow 3rd party app developers to connect to their e-board via API.

(Sorry to resurrect an old thread but Google brought it up so I thought I should update it).

I managed to find a way around ChessBase's validation of the DGT Rabbit software and was able to get my drivers working in the Fritz and ChessBase programs. My drivers are 64 bit so require Fritz 15 or later (or ChessBase 13 onwards) installed in their 64 bit versions.

So now Fritz can be used with the following boards:

Certabo
Chessnut Air
DGT (using either DGT Rabbit or my driver)
DGT Pegasus
Millennium (using Chess Link), including the eOne
Novag (Citrine and UCB)
Square Off Pro

The driver installation files and instructions are on my web page:

It’s about time for Chessbass products tk be manufacturer-agnostic. It’s 2022 already, not 1999.

While I agree with you, I don't think it's that ChessBase are particularly pro-DGT at the expense of everybody else. I think it's more that they really aren't interested in eBoards at all. They did the work to (partially) integrate DGT boards with their programs and that's really all they want to do. I've tried to contact them over the last couple of years so they know what I was working on, and I suppose they know I have now succeeded. If they wanted to they could easily issue an update to their programs that would stop my drivers working again but I don't think they care.
