Whew! 😅 I purchased my butter set a few years back. Glad I did. It's my hedge against inflation.

Good luck to all the Butters,,, I mean, "Bidders."

It's Crazy what people will pay for these. I remember when they first came out people were calling for me to get dragged through the streets for making an Ultimate in yellow. People wanted me to get tarred and feathered.

Now they are a collector item. Funny thing is that many of those who wanted to see me suffer for the color have bought multiples of this set.

Our industry is interesting to say the least! I will do my best to keep on bringing out new, high quality items that the community needs.

Thanks

93 bucks! Wow! Glad I got our bid early!
ShelbyLohrman

I was thinking they would go for about this price. The $129 that someone spent on a buy it now was just crazy.

What do you think? Should I list another one? I have 6 more...

Thanks

I'd suggest listing 3 and keeping 3 for another day. "Only 3 available! Don't hesitate!" wink

50% chance those who missed out will bring the bid to the same high price if no one else lists a similar set at the same time.

50% chance the winning bid will be lower after the last listing. Offers will likely come in to buy it now but always lower than the highest bid price.

Pawnerai

@ShelbyLohrman List the remaining 6 on eBay. $90 each Buy It Now. No offers. $20 shipping. And forget about it. It might take a month or so for all of them to sell, but whatever. When it sells, eBay will alert you. You don't need more hassle in your life.

I think the market will find its own level. If it goes lower, so be it.

The problem I have now is people are trying to cash in favors with me to try to get these on the cheap. I know most of them if I let these go will eventually end up on Ebay.

As for listing all the rest at $90? Let's see how this one goes and go from there.

We are listing one last butter yellow Ultimate Chess Set on Ebay. Last one went for a ridiculous amount ($93). This one should be a LOT more reasonable.

here is the link: WE Games Ultimate Chess Pieces - Yellow - 2nd Ed -NOS - 3X Weight - Sealed w Box | eBay

If you are a Chess.com member that wins it...I will throw in 2 chess piece bags to help protect the set!

List another set and I will bid also. Love having extra sets of butters on hand.

Here is my problem...I only have 2 sets left. The last one only went for $60 or so. Need to make sure I get full value for the sets.

We are going to wait a month and then list one.

When you list another set sometime later, it will help to sweeten the deal/listing. Bundle it with anything that you have in excess or non-moving items that you still have in your store will be the easy choice.

DaaaaaRook

You could also set a reserve, but that might cut some of your bidding interest.

We have set reserves in the past and it just kills the bids.

As for Chessroboto's comment...these are in demand enough that I should not need to bundle it with something else. I would hope at least!
