Need some help identifying this chess clock

Yes...Shelby Lohrman from American Chess Equipment needs help identifying a chess clock.  One of my very good friends gave me a donation of a box of clocks and I happen to have 2 of these.  I was told that these were the first digital chess clocks in a wood case.

After that...I know nothing!  See the source image

I was looking at a reason to toss a meme from Hogan's Heroes!

Can anyone help me with a name, manufacturer, and even a instruction manual on these clocks?

thanks

Well, I would say give it a few and there is a user here named Shelby Lohrman who can probably help you out.

But that won't work when the guy asking the question is Shelby Lohrman.

Typing in the address on the bottom label reveals:

"Logical Instruments Corp." which explains the "LIC" on the front of the clock.
Incorporation date of 1982. Looks like they are out of business.

Seems similar to the wooden Duel Timer Chess Clock.

I know, right?  Got a couple of other clocks in the collection that are pretty cool.  Have a brand new Kaisha 1000 in the box and even a custom painted ChonosII in one of my favorite colors...Dark Raspberry! I know the color because I was the one who got the case powder coated!  The Chronos is great but I will need to do a little work on the Kaisha.

If you are interested in any of these clocks, drop me a PM.  All are working but the Kaisha at the moment.

Thanks,

Shelby Lohrman

You hit it right on the head. When I saw the picture I vaguely remembered the clock. I realized Bob Long must have carried it back in the day. He carried many electric clocks that the USCF did not.

Mike,

Got the 2 of them to work. Pretty rudimentary.  Take a 9V battery.  When is the last time you have used one of those...right?

Have any of you ever seen these before?  I was shocked when I saw them

Looks like the very early years of trying to improve the mechanical clocks. They typically put them in a wooden case to make it look quality. Very sad Bob is not with us as he would have told you all about that clock, I am sure.

You might get some interest from people who collect chess clocks.
