I still think the grain patterns should run horizontalally instead of vertically. After all, our field of vision is a lot wider than it is tall.
Compare the above to a board with vertical grain to the one below. I orginally ordered this board with horizontal grain, but the construction was so poor I had to flip it over to get a decent playing surface. BTW, I decided to keep the board (for a 50% discount) and took it to a local woodworking shop for extensive planing.

I just ordered the 20 inch mousepad walnut chessboard.....nice!

Looks lovely, but is postage to Australia really $168?
Joseph,
I can ship one of these Global Priority mail. It will cost $40
I have to figure out how to put that shipping on the website for that particular item. I will have to fold it up though. If you are good with that email me at shelby@woodexpressions.com
thanks

Also any chance ACE might offer international shipping in future.

OMG, thank you for this. I was wondering why there were no analysis size flexpad or silicone boards because those are what I would want considering the bag I hold analysis pieces in. But alas, was always stuck with carrying around a rolled vinyl for it.

A couple of those examples have the A8 square wrong --- should be light, not dark
Update: never mind --- I see Shelby already mentioned this

Shelby,
I vote for a 2" mousepad board. It's the perfect size for 3.75" sets with king diameters around 1.5" (1.5"/2.0" = 75%).
I know most of us have probably grown up playing with cheap 3.75" plastic sets on standard 2.25" boards (1.5"/2.25" = 67%), I always thought it looked a little weird with pawns swimming in their squares just to stay afloat.
The first 2 designs went over so well, I decided to make 5 new designs!
Would love to get your opinions! Put them up on my Facebook page and sold 40 the first day.
