New Website on Soviet Chess Sets

cgrau,
I saw you link on you Facebook page and I already have it bookmarked so I can follow your postings. Thanks.

Thank you. Great website and very interesting area of collecting. I have a Tal reproduction set. I might add another Soviet set

found on the Internet
Chess computer "Strategist".
The first domestic development in this area.
Wooden, large tournament touch board. Game Strength - 2nd rank.
Side length 45cm. Inside there is a shelf under the figures and under the "brains".
When placing the figure on the cage, a soft click occurs, either a sensor or something else is triggered.

Many thanks!

My pleasure, F1!

It is a beautiful collection and all in non-restored battle-worn condition.
Thanks, MCH!

Thank you and you're welcome! What are you thinking of adding?

Woah…. Thank you for the amazing thread and links! This left me speechless, felt like I’d just awakened on Christmas Day! Oh and the “aspiring Luddite” phrase nearly made me snort my coffee this morning. A. L.’s unite!
thank you thank you thank you.
The fact that you continue to remember us guys on Chess.com,while so many collectors have gone their way, is a testament to your class!

Collectors often ask me where they can go to learn about Soviet chess sets. Now there is a new website whose mission is to compile photos and good information about these increasingly popular sets. The site is titled Soviet and Russian Chess Sets,https://sovietchesssets.com/. It complements materials in my Blog on Chess.com and the Facebook Group Shakhmatnyye Kollektsionery.
Read about the following sets, and many others, in our growing library of articles and in our Gallery, which provides a catalog of Soviet and Late Tsarist chess sets.
