As this is maybe interesting to others too, i finnaly found a nice computer engine to play against. Its called delfi, there is an ini file in which you can set it's strength. you can put it close to a level which you can win once in while and have fun with it. And it can play at verry poor levels too! (most engines i found to be to strong, there is no fun anymore in playing them)

Wel Defli is a free engine and it does play in my opinion more human like then others. Some how its strength limitation works nice keeping the game realistic.

if you want it google it or so its free.

Hey, also Mystery.exe !  This engine is easily beatable by someone with an online rating of 1600 or more, and is a LOT of fun to toy around with.  This engine is also free, and can be found on the Net.  :)

Another fun engine that is even weaker than Mystery is Golem.exe.  This engine topped out in the 1700s on Chess Live (standard), and is a fun little guy to play for beginner to intermediate players!  Like Mystery, it is free and on the web.  Both engines were designed for use with Winboard / Xboard.

i found rybka to be very beatable as well...haha. jk

I play against Chessmaster all the time. It is not free, but it has alot of personalities that give you a great cross section of opponents.
