I have gone for the Dubrovnik Minceta set in original size with brown stain, weighted and extra queens.
Did I make a good choice and any tips on a nice board to pair with it?
I like the old Jaques style boards with the raised border if anyone can post me in that kind of direction (if there is anyone that makes that style).
Would go for the red stain minceta , If space or money is a issue after payment / just get a green vinyl board for now .

MCH818 Your set looks way to clean & tight on your boards ,

I really like this but he doesn’t ship to the UK which is a shame.
This is the type of darker colour and style I am looking for.

@Timo1177, any chance you can make an exception on UK shipping?
I own Noj Dubrovnik II and Minceta sets. Congratulations on getting a great set.
I have a raised edge board from Official Staunton. They no longer ship to the USA for me and others, but they are based in London and ship there.
I haven’t looked at their site in quite awhile so I don’t know if they still sell that board or not. If they don’t you could always ask them about it.
Good luck.

@Lighthouse I agree the set looks too tight on both boards. I just put out the photo of the 45 mm board because it is a folding finger-jointed board like the original. I just thought about that this morning and then took a photo of it.
Tight or not, really appreciate the photos! Sets and boards by the way. Two extra Queens? That’s ambition! 😉
Edit: my focus was drawn to the blend of colors in second (folding board) photo. It grows on me with each viewing.

What makes NOJ Dubrovnik so desirable? DesperateKingWalk The long & short is both are a modern day rendition of a very rare chess set , to match today uses & play , without having to spend silly money on a real one / be it from the 50s 60s 70s 80s , As are very rare . also the finish & workmanship by NOJ , is very well done . So for a lot of people on here it's the set to have / When looking at whats on offer in todays market .
