I don't know what it would be worth, but I'd say it's a safe bet that it would be worth your while putting it on eBay. It's pretty much a classic, programmed by Dave Kittinger.
Thanks much, guys. It's a tough machine. Before I quit playing (medical issues), I was breaking even with the thing. 'Twas invigorating and depressing all at once. :-(
This is a very sought after chess computer by collectors. Very nostalgic, although not extremely strong, it sports a 1700+ ELO rating, with a very human-like playing style. The one shown above is only a Constellation. The one you say you have is a Super Constellation which will fetch a better price. I would say you could fetch $200+, if you have the original box and it's in mint working condition. It all depends on the market. Prices seem to have dropped off a little lately. Put it on Ebay. If it doesn't sell drop the price.
Many thanks EAGv2. Yes, mine is a mint Super Constellation, virtually as new. It includes not only a mint box and pieces, but unruffled manual, warranty info (LONG past), and late '80s chess brochures, sales info, and chess newsletters. Original packing material is still with it.
I guess I should take some pictures this weekend and seriously entertain an Ebay listing.

You might check out the HIARCS forum. There are some serious chess-computer collectors there and maybe they can give you an idea as to value. Someone might even make an offer. It's worth a shot. The Super Connie is highly regarded and, if it's as minty as you say, it might bring more than $111. So check it out. You'll need to register. Go here ---->> http://www.hiarcs.net/forums/index.php
Most of the chess-computer threads seem to be in the main lobby. They are nice guys so ask questions - and good luck!
Edit - there's an entry in the Chess Programming Wiki about the Super Connie ---->>

Late, I know, but ... what did it finally sell for?
Yeah, I probably should have followed the eBay listings. I'd love to get one.
I know I'm very late to this thread but blame Queen's Gambit - sorry! I have one of these machines that I bought around 1984 I think. I recorded a lot of games I played on this and I found a bug in the programming where as white I can mate in 7 moves. I have the game recorded.
[EDIT] : Make that 13 moves.
As long as you enjoyed yourself playing against the retro dedicated chess computer, it's done its job - provide the solitary player with a reasonably challenging opponent to the game of chess.
As for bugs, they all had them. Here is a website with a collector's insight of every dedicated chess computer that he had owned:
http://electronicchess.free.fr/prehistory.html
He included a sample game for each machine as well as any predictable playing weaknesses that he discovered in the programming.
Thank you Chessroboto, that's very interesting. My Constellation lost in 7 because it castled at exactly the wrong moment. Thanks again.
The SuperConny, as it was affectionately called by its fans...
Unfortunately mine is only a Constellation, but boxed, manuals and mains charger. Incidentally I was wrong about the buggy 7 move mate, it was 13 moves. Mate on the h rank after an unwise castle. Still I've had a lot of fun with it. But now my game is as rusty as hell....👍
I am an oldies chess computerfanatic. Active at www.schachcomputer.info
The superconny is a sought chesscomputer. It is legendary whille it scired 2150+ in speedchess and 1950+ in regular tournaments and that on a 8 bit CPU. Its worth 200-250$ and selling it on ebay wil extend your chances to Europe. The wooden equivalent Novag Expert is probable worth 800 to 1000$
As much as I want one, never managed to get it. One advise though. Don't sell it too fast, especially if you are hooked to chess. You will most likely miss it and likely will never get a chance to rebuy it in your life.
I would like to dispel the notion that the Super Constellation is only 1750 strength. I have been playing with the emulated version, and I find level 1 to be a tough challenge. I did some testing between different chess computers through emulation. You can find my initial results here:
https://chessplayeratlarge.blogspot.com/2022/01/testing-old-chess-computers-through.html
I want to do some more testing with additional chess computers. The later 8-bit Novag chess computers seem to be much stronger.
I've sold many sets over the years...the best being a lovely, hand-carved Enri set my wife gave me. I wish I had it back. (I haven't played in almost 30 years. I played in San Diego and took lessons from Cyrus Lakdawala.)
I just discovered a set I didn't play much at all...hidden away from myself, apparently. It's a Novag SuperConstellation (3.6 + other features). It's mint. Anyone have any idea whether it's worth putting on fleabay?
Thanks in advance for your help. This is my first post.
