Check out Perfect Chess Trainer for Android. I *think* it can do what you want.
Opening training software for Android and/or Mac OSX

yes, thanks. Perfect Chess Trainer indeed is the only tool I've found so far that comes close. Close, but no cigar - unfortunately. :-)
I've downloaded the demo app and played around with the Opening Training feature. Basicly it does what I want but it can only "play" one exact line, no variations. That's not gonna work with a real repertoire I'm afraid.
The demo app does not let you load a custom repertoire file though, so I'm not 100% sure if it really doesn't work with variations. Can somebody confirm?!
Thanks,
Horse
Yes. I have the full version. It does let you load a custom repertoire, ie one pgn file, but it separates it into single lines which you can only train one at at time. No random variations.

Has anyone had any luck with Chess Repetoire? I know it is available on Android, and I think iOS as well. I don't know if you can add your own lines or not.
Hi all,
I'm looking for something like http://www.chesspositiontrainer.com/ for Android and/or Mac OSX.
Something basic to support variation memorization would do, it doesn't need to be as sophisticated as Chess Position Trainer.
I'd like to open a PGN with my repertoire for a given opening - say for instance French Defense. I would do a move and the software just answers according to the repertoire - randomly choosing a move if there are variations. If I do a move that is not part of the repertoire PGN the software tells me and shows the "correct"/known moves. And so on - just pretty basic PGN navigation with some autoplay. Unfortunately SCID can't do that, can it?
Thanks,
