Unless I got it wrong Fischer/Spassky 1992 was played with an original 1950 Dubrovnik piece set. Someone that had one loaned it out for the 1992 Rematch. Maybe Ifekali could chime in & clear this up.?
Original 1950 Dubrovnik Chess Set
I especially like the set and board in those videos. It is in great shape.
Wouldn't that be a great set and board to have to play with?!?

Yes. The set in the video is an original from 1950. It is the set used in 1992 rematch. It is the set used as a reference for the Noj 1950 reissue Dubrovnik (six pieces were lent to the workshop in autumn of 2013). It is the very same set Bobby Fischer proclaimed as the finest ever.
This is the one.

P. S. Do not confuse this one with the 1970's Dubrovnik II redesign, seen in Fischer's videos on YouTube. A fine set on it's own, but it does not match the quality and craftmanship of the 1950's originals.

HI ! Guys ! I want tu buy this dubrovnik chess set because i love Fischer's game. where can i do to buy them ??

Hi Pauline, the orignal 1950 Olympiad Dubrovnik set and the later Dubrovnik version circa 1970s set used by Bobby Fischer are quite hard to find and rarely if ever offered for sale. Noj Ltd of Slovenia makes wonderful replicas of both sets. Here's a link to their fabulous Dubrovnik sets:

I love mine!
Also, in the tape of Bobby answering the question about his favorite set, the person who emailed in that question to Bobby's email on his web site was me. My email handle at the time was "social work".
Hvala i lijep pozdrav!

FYI, a "very rare" 1950 Dubrovnik in original packing is currently listed on ebay. What do you think?

The event referred to the eBay listing was real.

The commemorative pieces seem legit. I assume the brown roll up board did not survive 60 years, so it was replaced by a green roll up board. The pieces and the black plastic case are spot on.

That’s a piece of chess history right there.
It would have been better if the listing was up for bidding instead of buy it now.
@chessroboto The original set is made of wood. The set listed on ebay is a cheap plastic reproduction that's available for $20. See here:

Funny. I thought they already made plastic chess pieces back in the 1950s for mass production to go with the plastic case and thin roll up board.

@zagryan
wow.... i hope no one falls for this.
The chess set is actually a better deal compared to other items listed by the same seller. Here's one of them:

Looking at this 1950 picture I would say they did had green roll up boards. But they indeed seem to play with wooden pieces. I got a beautiful handcarved wooden board and pieces at home which I bought in Croatia when I visit during a holiday. And It wasnt even expensive. I just haggled for a good price. Im at my girlfriends place at the moment otherwise I would have posted a picture. Also have a Peruvian chessboar Incas vs Conquistadores. But its hand baked porcelain so I never play with it.

I did not know in which topic to write about this, I chose this branch.
