In the computer settings of the iOS app, you can make both the white and black pieces human controlled. There is a switch to prevent board flipping.

Thanks, but I'm really interested in how to make both sides oriented to a player on either side, if that makes sense. (Not all facing a single viewer holding the iPad). More like real OTB configuration.

LiChess has an over the board mode where the opponent’s pieces are upside down to you (right way up for them).
I have often wondered why there are no physical chess sets for touch screens. Now I see there is a set though don’t know if they ship internationally.

Is there a setting or app that will allow 2 players to face each other OTiP (over the iPad?!) over a tablet without needing to rotate the board every turn?
