Peshk@ Training Software

Its really tough to find ANY reviews of Convekta software that isnt five years old, does anybody actually buy their stuff? I like the look of the Openings Modules they have, but whats the difference between Openings Lab, Opening Encyclopedia and the multi dvd set they have on various classes of Openings (Open, Semi Open, Closed etc)?

Also the Peshk@ training interface looks nice, but I have seen comments about the software being buggy and poor customer support from Convekta. Again, comments from anyone with first hand experience running this on a Windows 7 system would be much appreciated.

Check out the demo versions and free online offers on homepage. It will probably give you a better idea than whatever other people say. As to what will/not work right away on other peoples machines; experience says never to be absolutely sure. If the demos work the full versions will probably too. What about testing the customer support by asking about the different opening software? (It is probably advanced (and some of it a bit dated as you indicate). Remember that eastern GMs think openingstudies is for people approaching IM strength...)

The demo is excellent, works fine on my laptop. Many, many positions to work over and they include the whole Botvinnik games collection for free! Considering the prices on the Chessok website I am definitely going to get some of their modules. One simple but brilliant idea they have (in my view) is to show you all the moves up to a position where you have to find the tactical solution and include the last move your opponent should have played as a note..this acts like a hint telling you what to look for, without actually putting into words like mate in 3 or double attack etc..great learning idea.
