Some more pics. I love the minimalist design and the sharpness of the carving.
Very nice, Klimski! Love the board, too! What's the story behind this family heirloom?
FYI, the Chessbazaar version comes with 3.8" Kings, extra Queens, a plastic storage box, arrives in the U.S. from India in four days, and costs less than $100 USD, shipping included.
The board has been in the clan for at least 60 years. The woodworm has taken its toll, as has central heating. I have pieces (I presume French) to go with it. And, important update: Regency Chess UK are sending me two extra queens after one e-mail to their service, so I'm very happy!

Thanks, K. Congrats on scoring the extra Queens.
I just got these in last weekend, and I love the pieces. 3 3/4 inch kings, and in my opinions the baddest Knights around. Great workmanship for a medium priced set, good quality wood. (The board I've got them on is a family heirloom and just a tad too small, but hey..)
If I have any gripes it's that I ordered through Amazon (because I have an account there) and didn't get the two extra queens that Regency mentions on their own site. And, considering I paid Eur 88 (delivered in NL) I would have liked to have a box or at least a felt bag to keep the pieces in.
