Gaedel, the knight in these sets looks absolutely fantastic! Who made it / what is the set called?
Post Your Chess Sets

Yep! I love the names -
Peshka (footsoldier)
Lad'ya (Longboat) [In Ukrainian it's called a tura, or tower]
Kon' (Horse)
Slon (Elephant) [In Arabic it's called a fil, which also means elephant]
Ferz' (Vizier)
Korol' (King)
Still love my old 1980s Luga chess set that I've already posted here.
If you don't mind me asking, musketeer, how do each of the new pieces move for your variant?

Hello again, y'all!
Since I'm back in the US of A I've acquired two new sets. The first one, pictured below, is a reproduction of a 1959 Zagreb (which was originally designed for the 1959 Candidates' Tournament in Bled/Zagreb/Belgrade, and won by Mikhail Tal). I love the bishops on this set. King is about 3.75" tall. Pieces are weighted and very stable. I hope to use this one for many years to come

My daughter does artwork and has recently added chess to her collection. Here is what she made me and her website. She will do custom artwork as well. https://www.etsy.com/shop/BohemianArtnSoul/items

The Zageb 1959 set is not a reproduction of the set used in the 1959 Candidates Tournament or any other tournament. The very popular Dubrovnik style sets were used in the 1959 Candidates Tournament.
Here''s a link to some footage on the 1959 Candiates Tournament:

Yes, I also had not seen that footage of the candidates tournament from 1959. It is very nice to watch, a few times even.
Thanks goodknightmike.

Interesting how Tal tries to "tweak" Fischer with his delayed response to e4 and the exasperated look on his face on the footage. Clearly all business.

Man, that archbishop looks intimidating.
The chancellor looks a little bit like BCE's Queen (from Slovenia):
