Cool idea.
Read a book

Who wouldn't benefit from reading My 60 Memorable Games, chapter by chapter, cover to cover. We would not only be reading the book---we would be digesting the book!

I have Fischers book also but have never read it from cover to cover, or discussed it and asked questions of other players who were reading it with me.

Well, we have five members why dont we start reading. Lets read the first game Fischer vs Sherwin New Jersey open 1957 on Thu and Fri of this week and and come back on Sat for discussion and questions.

wow, this was actually an amazing idea! Maybe you should make a group then we join and begin the book? I'd definitely be in for this idea.

maybe we can do a book that someone has a pdf off? I have several of them on pdf and can email the the group admin and then he can distribute?

Ben, could you set us up in a group---I'm not sure how to do this.

Hey guys, i opened up the group per requested by raul72. I'm not sure but some of the settings I put was that not everyone can just join. then we get a bunch of people who join but dont put the work into the readings. i guess the pic will be whatever book we are reading at the time and since raul72 suggested this maybe we should let him take the lead with the group? send me the request to join i will accept then make raul the admin.
I always thought it would be a good idea to read chess books in a group. Five heads are better than one. Someone could suggest a good book and if you have the book and would like to join in...
Perhaps a classic---maybe one chapter a week. If you have 5 or 6 guys participating---one will probably be strong---one or two will be intermediates and one or two will be novices. But, all will benefit from the group participation.
It would be great to go through several classics a year. Perhaps a classic of Capablanca, or Fischer, or maybe Karpov. Or maybe a good tactics book, or endgame book.
This could be a good way to get us reading again!
