Here might be an option.
Here's another option that is slightly bigger and I think is better than the 1st option I pointed to.
Take a look at Drueke Magnetic Chess set. Raphael did a great sales video here:

@zagryan While the Drueke Magnetic sets are a really good option. It is however a discontinued set. Thus making it a chore to find it. Might be more helpful to give the OP a link to where he or she can purchase that set without having to go down a bunny trail coming up empty handed.
Well, practically every Drueke style magnetic travel set is sold out. Here are some links though.

Be aware, that Drueke magnet travel set you linked to is the cardboard case version. The one that most collectors and players (and the video) talks about is the discontinued plastic case version. I've looked into purchasing one a while ago, but ended up passing on it. Have also seriously considered the HouseOfChess wood ones linked above, but passed on that as well. These types of "save your position" travel sets had their day. Nowadays, for most people, a quick snapshot on the phone will save the game well enough to suffice. The OP may have very specific requirements and genuinely needs this type of set. I'm just making conversation with my morning coffee.
I bought an absolutely gorgeous magnetic set. Yes, it was missing pieces… but even apart from that, the magnetic approach very clearly didn’t fit my needs.
if I’m using the “snap a pic” approach, I’ll just use my full-size set. 🤷🏾♂️

Regular folding magnetic travel sets (not the save-your-position type) are great when you don't want to carry around a full-size set. Or don't have table space to set-up a full size set when you're out. I've played chess with coworkers during lunch break. Small break-room/cafeteria/cafe tables, crowded with people during lunch, occasional knocks into the table from passerby, eating, etc. The 12inch(?) board size and magnets are great. When it's time to get back to work, we took a photo of the board. Put everything away and continued the game tomorrow. This is all pre-covid of course I miss those times where I live.
Oh, I’m not knocking them. They just aren’t what I want/ need at this time.
I do own a compact set that lives by a friend with small hands and limited living space - she loves it!
“[…] a practical travel/analysis set must have a place for captured pieces and must allow the position to remain as is when closed and traveling. That means no folding boards with the playing surface on the outside. […] Oh, and it's also nice to have a set where the pieces don't dislodge themselves from the holes when turned upside down with lid closed.”

I recently bought a magnetic travel set that was well-reviewed, and it was horrible — the magnets were weak. It was pretty useless as a travel set.
Does anyone have recommendations for a set that meets fightingbob's criteria above?
I suspect a peg set is what I'm looking for, but I'm really hoping for a set that doesn't need to be babied if we have to adjourn the game — one where I can just pop the lid on, put it in a bag, and resume it later whenever there's time without fear that the pieces have shifted.
