REGIUM Automatic Chess E-board

Everyone also keeps forgetting the company that made the boards in the video have said it is their boards and that they have not been altered in anyway, and they simply make chess boards not electronic ones.

The new video is a good effort by Regium, but they are 100% missing the point. Instead of trying to convince us that the original videos are real, they should be inviting 3rd parties to view the tech, and addressing the other suspicious behavior, like potentially fictitious staff members, and sock puppet defenders. No one trusts you because of your shady behaviour, but that trust can be restored with open and honest communication, and THIRD PARTIES.

Based on what's transpired so far, I'd be even harder on them than you. I wouldn't participate in the Kickstarter, because it's a cr*pshoot at best. Also, I'd wait until the company had operated for a while to establish a record of delivering the goods and providing good customer support.

Of course, that's all predicated on the price being something I could afford - I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah nah, I'm not going anywhere near that kickstarter. That's a hard pass based on present info.

Have they? Since when?

It was in one of the news posts here.

If you look at the second video, the table has room underneath the board for a man to hold a magnet and move the piece manually. Also the camera is cleverly placed to make that possible. Cheap trick, like an new revision of the Turk machine. Please stay away of that thing. It can only be a scam at this moment without real proof.

Alfonso Belcells, who is labeled as a Full Stack Developer for REGIUM, has indicated to Chess.com that he is not associated with the company in any way.

Kickstarter should have already started but no related projects in Kickstarter.com...

Regium page indicates Kickstarter has begun, but no evidence of that on the Kickstarter site.

This is a sad stare of affairs for all of us, as this concept holds great promise.

Oh, the wait! It's unbearable!

Doctor-Lazurus

Searched Kickstarter... no Regium to be found.  Bummer.

I would like to donate to them for a wonderful show! Any account number available?

Well, that's one way for them to get some money!

What a shame

Ah it's online: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/soontech/regium-automatic-chess-e-board-0?ref=discovery&term=chess

BaronVonChickenpants

Already reported. Someone has backed it!

Serphiot

Probably themselves, to get some trust?

BaronVonChickenpants

Maybe. I belive the list of backers are hidden so no way to know.

The suggested donation is $10, but you can actually donate any amount you want.  The entertainment value is of course priceless, but not sure if I'll throw a few bucks their way or not.  I see they do have a backer though...
