Ralph from Chess House is an awesome guy to deal with. I originally ordered a JLP Queen Anna chess board from him and it was so nice that I decided it needed some protection. So I went back to searching the forums, looking at reviews on these things and at the end of the day, back to Chess House I went.

The quality of the bag is awesome. I have a feeling this thing is really going to last forever. The bag is padded and feels like it could take a beating and there are no spots on the bag where it feels like there's a lack of protection. The zippers are of extremely high quality and thick. Everything looks to be double stitched. The inside of the bag is made of a different and much softer material so it shouldn't scratch your chess board. Fits the JLP board perfectly.

The only bad thing I can say about the bag is that it is expensive, but if you have an heirloom chess board and want the best chess bag possible for it, get this one.

Very nice!

Do you intend to use the bag to transport your board out of the house? Or is it meant for storage at home only?

mdero83

Mostly going to use it for storage at home but it would be very suitable for transportation.

Dear, what chess pieces do you use with board, can we see it ?
Thank you!

Nice bag, but a little pricey.

The board looks nice too.  It looks like it has raised squares above the border, but then inside the bag it looks like the squares and border are flush?  What's the deal?

The pizza delivery bag costs $20 bucks and is 20x20", and will keep your board nice and hot!

I have to ask since we are both from Canada, how much did you pay for shipping and duties?

I use the Elite Series & Aristocrat Series from Staunton Castle.  You can read my review of them here and it also has pictures of the pieces on the board.  Best of luck.

The board is a JLP Queen Anne that I got from Chess House.  On the underside of the board it's flat but you can see the pattern.  The top part of the board (playing surface) is curved to its playing surface.  It's a great board, honestly.  I also reviewed it and you can find more info on the link below.

I ended up having it shipped to a buddy in the states that was coming down to Canada.  I wish the Chess House could work out free shipping to Canada.
