I received an email today from Millennium Chess announcing some new products, and I was happy to see they are now offering RFID chips for both the Exclusive and Tournament size pieces.

€129 per set with extra Queens. I think I’ll take the plunge.

Does it not turn out to be much more expensive than buying a set of pieces and removing the RFID chips? The RFID chips alone seem to be just in the same price range of a set of spare pieces. Just asking

I guess it would depend on how risky it is to remove the old chips. The pieces that came with my Exclusive board are nice enough that I’ve never tried to dissect them.
