Royal Chess Mall

I found a new seller of chess boards and pieces on eBay. They are called royalchessmall. Has anybody bought any stuff from them? They are based in India and sell stuff which is remarkably similar to Chessbazaar's stuff. But it is cheaper in price.

Both companies probably purchase product from the same artisans, as they're both located near Amritsar.

Yes that figures.

Royal Chess Mall's prices seem to be the best that I have seen for some style sets. Can anyone personally attest to the quality of their chess sets? Some prices for wood sets are competitive with the plastic versions of the sets available from some vendors. I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has purchased a set from them.

Chessbazaars prices have shot up over the last couple of years.

I'm patiently waiting for Chessbazaar to restock one of their Soviet chess sets which has been sold out for about two months.....sigh.

Just curious why you mention CB. Is CB related to Royal Chess Mall?

Does anyone have experience with RCM?

They are both in India and very close to each other. They probably use the same supplier.

How many sets have you purchased from them?

What country do you live in to have to pay import tax, because in the USA you do not if it is below $2500US and is for personal use.

Show us examples of your "import tax bill" with a US address and pictures of your "poor quality" sets with proof you purchased from them or shut up.

I am sure that US customs will be shocked by Stationmaster's revelation.  Some of their staff may require counselling, some I am sure will retreat to isolated communities deep in the mountains to try to repair the damage to their view of humanity.  If however Fedex is the one levying the duty as he keeps saying then customs will be able to do nothing about it and he should be telling Fedex, who I am sure will be appropriately concerned.

Stationmaster is only going on about import duty because he has been blocked from going on about it in the Staunton thread.

RCM appear to have an ETSY store.  The one significantly negative comment there appears to be the result of someone returning a set and declaring its value to be five times what they paid, resulting in a whole lot of import duties in the way back to India and no refund for the sender.  That couldn't have been Stationmaster, could it?  It would explain much.

Your customers?  Because you have no idea?

I am regulary buying from royalchessmall. I have bought German Knight from them and I have bought Reykjavik. Both sets are good value for money but far from perfect. I German Knigh set felts are very loose all the time, and in Reykjavik set many pawns are jiggling because iron inside is loose. Apart from that, everything is great, wood quality is great, finishing is amazing for that price level and I enjoy playing blitz with their sets. Its perfect for that kind of money.

Out of interest who pays for the shipping on replacements ?

I know this is not a Chessbazar thread, but CHESSBAZAR BUYERS BEWARE!! When you buy products they are claiming to be on sale up to 70% (not slightly imperfect), you will be getting the same thing as with slightly imperfect!! 3 times I bought from them when their sets are for sale and I found nothing but disapointment! Once, bishops were not the same size, often pawns were cracked, wobbly weights inside pieces especially inside Dubrovnik pawns, and there is no warranty for items on sale. That is why I would recommend Royal Chess Mall to everyone, as I stated before they are far from perfect, but they are much more reliable than CB and they will be happy to solve any problem you have at their expense.

I have bought several chess sets from royalchessmall.  The quality of the pieces are excellent and look amazing! My sets arrived in less than a week. They also have a solid guarantee against defects. As a customer, they have earned my respect and confidence and I will buy more sets from royalchessmall. I'll also say that Sid is awesome and he's very responsive to all communication between the customer and the company. 👍

Do you have a web site at all?  I can't find you anywhere from the Indian side.  I'm in Gujarāt state, and I want to buy chess sets.

You will find royalchessmall within eBay.

I don't know how ebay works.  Apparently, I cannot do a vendor search, only product searches.  How do I reach you in ebay??

Here is their link:
