Russian Chess Board (MTM Wood) for sale ON THE CHEAP!

Hello everyone,

I received this $700 chess board from Andrei of MTM Wood yesterday. Unfortunately, it has a hairline crack from damage in shipment so I am selling as-is for $175 including USA shipping. Please see the pics below - the crack is not highly visible but there. It runs about 8-9 in length along the indicated path. It does not go completely through the board.

Board is made from solid 2.5" squares of sapele & birch. Overall dimensions are 23" x 23" x 1.25" A damn beautiful board and such a shame it was damaged. Andrei told me a woodworker might be able to fill and repair, but I am not certain. Please message me if interested.

Ok, Thanks for the response.  If you would please answer, it would be appreciated much. Since you have owned one of these. What's your thoughts? Would you recommend one of these or is a $50 - $200 veneered board just as nice?  I've never played on a thicker board, I'm using my imagination right now of me playing on an end-cut butcher block. Seems it would be neat - solid as a rock feeling.  I just purchased a $75 board from HOS(my first board)(also got some of those thin silicone flexible roll-up boards) and the $75 board is ok, (when you look close you can see it not top quality, and also there is a slight bow/curve along the bottom surface) but I've never been a huge fan of veneer's on furniture either.  Would you make that MTM purchase again? if not why and what would you purchase next time? also, I'm asking because $700 is a lot of money
