The over stuffed Teddy Bear might have a point. Others however, have posted sets for sale. I guess its up to the mods & not Teddy Bears.
Selling Luxury Chess Sets on ebay
It doesn't really bothers me that people offer sales. I actually like it.
I have found some nice designs and deals becouse this forums. I think it is a great service.
Also the title of this post was very clear about the content, if people is not interested on learning about ebay sales offers I would sugets to avoid doing the click on messages with descriptions about sales on ebay.

Personally, I don't have an issue with people posting links to their ads on other sites. I think of it as a FYI "heads up" alert. Even better if they offer a discount for Chess.com members!
I would, however, take exception with posting full-blown ads in the forums. If Chess.com wants to allow ads, then they should set up a separate forum to do so.

I too do not have a problem with it but I do know if the forum turned into one big selling forum it would not last too long. First you have to ask yourself did it look like to the moderators I joined the forum just to get free advertising for my sets? If your answer is yes I think this thread will not last too long.
I myself haven't joined as a paying member as of yet but I am seriously thinking about it, if only for the reason it takes money to pay for it. Was hoping these chaps who own the place would have a senior discount and I mean a real senior discount, 65 or over.
I personally don't care for chess books, I see that usually there is messages of people asking for books, or anouncing selling their books... I just don't click on those messages.
I also see there is a whole forum about jokes... I don't click on that neigther.... and so on and go on....
When I am not interested I just don't click. One thing I don't do is click and then comment that I am not interested.
Hello friends,
I'm starting to sell luxury chess sets on ebay. I've been a chess enthusiast for decades and thought this would be a lot of fun to do. I have always preferred high end sets and wanted to share what I'm passionate about with folks who are like me. The links to the ebay listings are:
Would greatly appreciate any feedback you may have. Right now the quantities of chess sets are very limited, however based on your feeback, I will get more sets made.
Regards,
