It is good to hear a positive experience. Thanks for posting.
Service from Chess Bazaar

The balance of praise when deserved and frustration when not is important, for me anyway.
Both can be passionate - it’s great to hear when people are excited and stoked with their new purchases and sad too when hope is squashed by frustration of poor quality and or service.
As it happens, my sets to date, have been from Chess Bazaar and I too have been happy with the quality of product and the responsiveness of service. My most recent thread being about the Shera Series which ended well with a hiccup along the way.
For me, the value of information is in it’s objectivity - and it really helps to hear stories from so many different consumers buying from many different suppliers.
My experience with Chessbazaar has changed. At first it was very positive. I bought my first CB set ( Richard Witty) in may of 2020. I continued to purchase CB sets, ( 2 repro 1849 sets) and 2 storage coffers. I recieved several replacement pieces without any problems. BUT on May 6, 21, Mr. G notified me that he had sent me a parcel (containing replacement pieces ) by India post. It has not yet arrived, even though it was sent more than 3 months ago! There were 3 other pieces that had to be replaced. Mr. G said to notify him when the parcel arrived so that he could send me these chess men. One month later,@, I bought another set ( Anderssen drop jaw ) and requested that the 3 replacements be sent with this set. Mr. G said that it was not possible to do this. I recieved this set 6 days later. I have been sending Emails to Mr. G regarding the parcel . I have asked him if it can be traced, if it is insured, if it has been lost by India Post. So far, I have not gotten the parcel and no replies to my Emails for the past 2 months@@. I am satisfied with the quality of my CB chess sets. I WAS satisfied with their customer service. I hope that I will be able to post a happy end to my experiencess with Chessbazaar.
Right off the top these people are good with whom to do business. Back in February, I ordered from them a V.3 Dubrovnik in Boxwood and Sheesham. At the time it was out of stock, but they sent it promptly as soon as it was in stock. The pieces were well packaged and no damage. I was well pleased with the quality and the service. Along about the end of May I noticed a small crack in the base of one of the white Queens and one in the base of one white Knight. I promptly took pictures of the cracked pieces and emailed the pictures to Chess Bazaar requesting replacements. They responded promptly that they would replace them. They asked that if I was going to purchase another set they would include the replacements with the new purchase. If not they would have to send them regular post which would take longer. I asked that they send them regular post. I waited patiently into June and no response. When I emailed a second time they responded promptly that they would send the pieces and that the shipment had been delayed because India Post had been suspended due to the pandemic. Fast forward to today, as in my mail box today was a small parcel from Chess Bazaar with two very carefully wrapped replacement pieces that match well with my existing set.
Thank you Chess Bazaar for your service. I know that the pandemic has severely hurt our friends in India and that your struggles have hindered your businesses and staff. Based on this demonstration of service in a difficult time, I WILL do business with Chess Bazaar again.
For those who might question me, I have no connection whatsoever with Chess Bazaar other than having, so far, purchased only one set from them. For the rest of you, do not be lax in posting good things about the companies that do treat you right.
