Get the toaster.
Should I buy HTRYC 4th Ed.even if I own 3rd

I am serious, a toaster will be far more useful and entertaining than buying a book that you already have.
I have not read Silman yet even tho I own a used copy of the 3rd edition. Should I (1) buy the 4th edition and read (study) it and give my 3rd Ed to the library?(2) read the 3rd edtion first? (3) forget Silman and go on studying chess puzzles, reading annotated games, struggling with My System, and working through tactics books? I am a rather insecure 1600 player on this site. Stwils
1. There were many revisions from the 3rd Ed. to the 4th. Ed. I get the 4th.
2. Study tactics
3. Study rook and pawn endings (they will acocunt for roughtly 80% of your endgames)
4. Study and LEARN the Lucena, and Philidor positions.
5. Combine positional study with tactics, that way you get the best of both chess worlds.
