Smyslov's 125 Selected Games is out of print and I don't have hundreds of dollars  : (

Are any books containing Smyslov's games readily available ?  In algebraic and preferably annotated.  Is the section on Smyslov in My Great Predecessors worthwhile ?

Smyslov's games are said to be among the most instructive in chess.

What are the copyright implications?

None if you simply ignore them.

Smyslov's Selected Games 1935-57 is probably my favorite chess book ever.

jefe70

The Chesscafe website has a two-volume hardcover collection of Smyslov's games, for about $40 each volume. Also for a bit under $20 they have in paperback Smyslov's "Endgame Virtuoso" which concentrates on his endgame play. All three books are in algebraic and annotated by Smyslov.

TwoMove

I would recommend two volumne set jefe70 talks about. Pricey but the best quality and number of annotated games available.

you can get an old Dover edition for a reasonable price, but it is in descriptive notation.
