Great little clock and quite scarce.Any reliable information is appreciated. For example, clocks are stamped R.F.D. on a pictured mailbox on the base of the clock. One source quotes,

"and the little mail box on the dials lists RFD Distributors".Can anyone confirm this?

I remember the name as "Solara." I owned one in the seventies. It was a beauty. It was stolen a long time ago.

Currently a "Solora" is on sale at eBay for $580 though it needs servicing.

I have two, found in Switzerland in flea markets. Both in good condition, but in both one of the clocks starts and stops soon.

Today I found this one, also Swiss, low price (they are very rare and usually sold for 500 to 800 dollars).

Beautiful little clocks.  I used to have one but stupidly sold it.  You can see by the label that "Solora" is indeed the correct spelling.
