Soviet Chess Primer or How to Reassess Your Chess?

Hi, so I wanna buy and read a chess strategy book for the first time. I was wondering which one would be the best option between the soviet chess primer and How to reassess your chess? what should be the first book I should read? (I am about 1660 both rapid and blitz) and I am no stranger to tactics books and puzzles but no idea about strategy or how to evaluate the position other than piece value) any other book you would recommend to start learning about strategy? thanks

Simple Chess by Michael Steen is a fantastic first book on chess strategy.

Agreed on Simple Chess by Stean. I also recommend Weapons of Chess by Bruce Pandolfini and Winning Chess Strategies by Seirawan and Silman.

The Soviet Chess Primer is a good all-around chess book, but I'm not sure how well it discusses strategy.
