Spacious mind reveals the true glory of the king computer
I also own the Millennium The King Performance. Though I realize there are other stronger dedicated chess computers available these days, The King seems strong enough to beat most players anyway. I bought because I enjoy playing on a real board with wood pieces and The King is easy to use and has plenty of features for those of us learning to play chess while being strong enough that I will likely never out grow it. I don't need a chess computer that is so strong I will never be able to beat it, but would rather have a chess computer that plays at a low enough level that I can win once in a while and more often as I learn and improve, yet strong enough to always challenge me and at its highest level, probably never beat it.
For these reasons, The King is (in my opinion) the best choice for me and it doesn't really matter if somebody else thinks it is not a good chess computer for one reason or another. I also have 3 Novag chess computers: Sapphire II, Star Diamond, and Star Sapphire. Of these 3, I like the Sapphire II the best.
You will get all manner of opinions on any forum and in my experience, it is best to ignore most of them unless you know the poster to be trustworthy and knows what s/he is talking about. You can determine that by reading many posts by that person. So, that said, don't trust what I said here either because I am unknown around here, but just happened to have recently purchased The King Millennium with the latest firmware already installed. I like this chess computer, but I am sure others may not necessarily feel the same.
