I saw this book today and was curious. Has anyone read it? If so, would it be worhtwhile for a beginner like myself?

Thanks for any advice.

I'm currently reading it right now. The book is OKAAYY. Not that great and not that bad.

Poketo

I have the book right now and it is more like a 50/50 quiz on what is the best move to make with grandmaster vs. correct plays.

First, it felt like there would be a list of mistakes inside. Can you share a link or the author name for the book?

Are you talking about the one by Larry Evans?

Larry Evans wrote many books and for years had a syndicated column in newspapers, "Evans on Chess". I never read this book but his reputation is solid. For something more recent, and going perhaps a bit deeper, you might consider "50 Mistakes You Should Know" by Jesus de la Villa, who also wrote the "100 Endgames You Should Know" series of books.

Lots and lots of books…. And some wonderful posts here highlighting & reviewing them - and organizing lists. Here’s one in my current rotation (a beginner level book):

Thank you for sharing these details!! But do you know if the book in the title "The 10 most common chess mistakes" is by Larry or not?

PDX_Axe

That title is available on Amazon and is written by Larry Evans.
