the best book for beginners in chess

in my opinion when i was first starting out in chess the best book to use is "how to defend in chess" by colin crouch and "bobby fischer teaches chess" by the late bobby fischer himself i highly recomend these books there are tacticts and stratiges that are awe inspiring does anyone have a good chess book they would like to recomend to their fellow players?

"Learn Chess-A Complete Course" by Alexander & Beach.  You can buy a copy on Amazon.com for about $5.00.  You will not be disappointed.

That's a wide misinformation. Bobby Fischer has nothing to do with the book except the title, which is basically stolen by the authors and editors of the book. And the book itself is quite a bad one. Smile

In several books aimed at beginners I have seen, none was better than chessmaster (Waitzkin lectures) in my opinion.
