Very disappointed chessbazaar

About a month ago I purchased a 12 inch folding chess set from chessbazar.com.

The web page is described as follows

But the product I received was quite different and very disappointing

The number of joint of the board are insufficient

Because of lack of the joint, a gap exist in the middle of the board

Hook and inside of the item was far beyond from description

The bottom of the chess pieces is not flat due to incorrectly attached magnet

Thanks to that, they could float in the air

It should be taken for granted that the packaging is damaged during delivery.

At first, that board wasn't fair, so I bent it with force so it fits that much.

It took 20 days to receive a product like this, but when I contacted chessbazar, I answered that it is difficult to make consistently because it is a handicraft product.

He suggested to resend to him, after checking the product's status then he can refund it.

I said first wanted to replace the photos on the homepage, but he only said yes but not changed for one month. they are doing fraudulent business as they are.

I really shamed about quality of product and their mind, so said to him I would just throw it away because I don't want to wasted another month of my time.

I realized the philosophy behind chessbazar's business with this example and the company's products will never be touched again by me.

I hope there are no other victims like me.

you should bought these types of things From Flipkart,Amazon or Should have directly went to a shop !

I can't believe what I saw.

How can you brazenly sell a completely different defective product? As you said, it seems urgent and important to immediately replace fake photos of the entire site with actual product photos rather than time and mind compensation.

I've read a lot that the quality of chess bazaar is bad, but it's really embarrassing and ridiculous.

They should be ashamed of what they are doing.

From now on, I won't buy any products from Chess Bazaar or recommend them to others.

Sad to see. I bought a set like the one you received. I bought it at a garage sale for 1$. I plan to give it away to someone at one point, and i refuse to use it, as it has issues very similar to the ones your encountered.

I would demand they refund, never send the product back, and say you will just buy elsewhere.

I'm not faulting OP but ordering that travel set from CB is like ordering sushi at a steakhouse.  The very fact that it took 20 days tells me they got it from some other manufacturer or vendor. Every order I got from CB that wasn't on backorder arrived in 5 days or less.

That's disappointing. I got an excellent folding set a few years ago from CB. It wasn't magnetic though, which might make a difference.

From my experience with C.B. they have their heart in the right place,but are consistently inconsistent.

For those type of sets I recommend House of Chess on eBay. I have one of their 12" magnetic sets with the slide out storage drawer and I' be been very pleased with it. I've Also bought 4-5 full sized chess pieces from them over the years with equal satisfaction. Any issues were handled expeditiously and without a hassle.

Wow, that is shoddy and chess pieces that don't even lay flat is especially unacceptable.  A full refund is in order and a different company that knows a lttle QC is recommended.

Right. It was my mistake to buy with believe only the pictures shown on the Internet without the reviews of chess.com members. But I hope other people will not be fooled by fake photos like me.

Right. It seems to me that they sending another product with a picture of a similar product. Maybe the manufacturer or brand is different.

I was fooled by a fake photo, so it's just too frustrating to pay close to $100 dollars and wait for a month to receive it.

Thank you so much for your sincere advice. I was in a bad mood because of a fake photo product made elsewhere, but I know what to do after listening to you. In particular, I visited The House of chess and looked at it, but there were so many good items especially portable products. Thanks to that, I can buy new products from places I trust. Thanks again.

Contact customer service and arrange to return it to get a full refund for all the things you pointed out. Have them provide a shipping label for the return of wrong item that you received. At the very worst, ship it yourself, but do not settle to keep it. Finally, leave a review on their website. 

Well, it is true that Chessbazaar quality does not meet high standards and faults of different types come up here and there now and again but CB customer service is very good and they always go out of their way to solve issues amicably. 

I'm not sure if the community is absolute, but what I know for sure from this opportunity is that they sell the product different with the descriptions, and conscientiously, we should pick a company that makes good quality products without lies.
