What are the best books for children?

I have a friend who is 7 years old and really interested in chess. He has played with someone ( I think his grandfather who is from Russia) since he was three. I would like to give him a book for Christmas that he would love and grow from. What would you suggest?  He reads very well.

Thank you so much for your response to my question. There are many  books for children to choose from!  I think I will go with Chess for Children by Chandler, or Chess Workbook for Children by Bardwick.

I've not seen either one, and I am inclined to think that Chandler's book is more geared to a 7 year old.  However this little boy is smart and the Chess Workbook just might inspire him.

Has anyone seen either one of these two books?  As far as I know this child has no chess books, but has played enthusiastically on Vista's Chess Titans and with his grandfather from Russia.

What do you think?

Paul211, thank you for your research for a good book for children. I loved having both chessville.com's reviews.

Both books sound great. I decided on Chandler's Chess for Children for now, as it may be more geared toward a 7 year old.  I ordered it and it should arrive at his home tomorrow!

Thank you for your help.  If I recall, this is not the first time you have helped me with book selections.
