Ok but what about us consumers, customers do we get anything out of it?

Like an IPhone if we know IMEI we can check few things about it , including if it's an original product or not.

Yeah. Document your serial # and if someone tries to take your clock or it gets moved to a different table/board at a tourney, you can find it more easily wink.png
