Where to get chess books in New York City

I'm going to NYC this year for vacation (July 1st thru 11th) and I wanted to pick up a few chess books there (or anything unusual/cool related to chess). Any good ideas? I'd like to get a copy of Nimzovich's My System and a good book on the King's Gambit (any suggestions?).

Thanks.

The Strand:

Then of course you have Borders and Barnes&Nobles

Fred Wilson's is the best for used and some new books. The Strand has heavily discounted book.

Thanks guys.

I searched on the Strand Bookstore website but it had 0 results for chess.

Hm. Maybe I searched wrong.

I wonder, does Fred Wilson still give lectures on the last Thursday of every month? What are the odds of coming across him?

Last time I was in NYC I went to the Strand and they have a table in the basement full of old/used chessbooks. That was a few months ago. The titles of course will vary based on who comes in and sells their old books to the Strand. Always worth a look.

During the summer Fred's schedule is different. Tomorrow morning is his last children's group lesson --I am not sure what he has planned for his adult groups over the summer.

The Strand is right around the corner from Fred. They have mostly remaindered books. As of now Fred has some good used books as he has recently got some nice items and he is very reasonable on his pricing.

I'm back from NYC now and I couldn't find Fred's store. I found the Strand and some nice chess books there. What I found at what's supposed to be Fred's address is what looked to be a hotel called St. Denis.

Fred's office is in the St Denis on the 3rd floor--it is an office building

I had a similar problem. I found the building but could not get inside of the building!

The building is closed on Sunday's but open Mon-Sat during normal business hours--Fred is usually there from around 1-7

Fred Wilson is moving a few blocks away to a new space a few blocks away next week.  Great guy and teacher.  Chess books galore.
