If you mean books that are under copyright then you need to go away. That is stealing.

That is an illegal download site. That would be stealing.
Hope you are not teaching that child in your avatar pic your unethical behaviour and lack of character.
@ rsava I think its very bad form to name call and cast aspersions without knowing someone. As you can see via my diamond membership I pay for what I use. I was responding to a request.
While my chess book collection is modest and my chess sets and boards collection is nascent that is more a reflection of limited space than ability or willingness to purchase. I pay for what I use.
I'm glad that you have a travel set soap box thats easily accessible though.
And the site you posted is a pirating site. You obviously know that.
I did not call you any name and the aspersions seem justified since it is obviously a pirating site.
It has been reported.
I do not take kindly to people who promote illegal things like you did by posting that link.
There, I said it again You deserve it.
Your ethics are beyond questioning now since you are trying to defend your unethical behaviour.
Ah, yes, another person who believes in illegal activities. Good job.
You guys who believe in pirating do understand that it points to your lack of character - and the fact that most people who download illegal stuff will cheat at other things also.
BTW, your argument is a false equivalence. Learn how to actually debate.
Buying a gun is not against any rules.
Promoting an illegal download site is against the site TOS.
Educate yourself silly boy so you do not look foolish.
Stealing is stealing. PERIOD. If you condone it or promote it you are a person of questionable character and low ethical standards who probably cheats at other things like online chess.
Maybe when you grow up and mature you will understand. As it is, your last statement makes you sound like a jealous child, which I am sure you are.
@hudsonuni -
a) You don't act like it. You act like a petulant child who has never really had to work to produce a product or service.
b) I have always found that people who bragged about all the hardships they have fascved and how much they do for "charity" are full of s---. I don't believe a word of it.
You joined here 8 days ago, come in and support pirating of products that someone makes a living off of then giver us your pious BS. Go away.
The fact is, if you steal products like books/software/etc you are most likely also a cheater in other things like taxes, online chess, or life in general. If you do have a job and don't still live in mommy's basement you most likely steal from your job at McDonald's also.
Stealing is WRONG and those that do it and/or condone or supply ways to steal are criminals.

You can get free chess e-books here.
Thanks for providing a legitimate source for free books.
You can get free public domain books at archive.org. While these are old books whose copyrights have expired many of them still have great value such as the books by Laser and Capablanca. Also good puzzle books.
The knee-jerk reaction of those who assume all free chess books are illegal is surprising as there are a lot of legitimately legal free chessbooks. Even though most of them are older books, most of them are still good. Here are websites with legally free (at least as claimed) books:
