And why do others NOT support more than 16 pieces? I thought they calculate based on whats on the board, but appearantly not?
Which engine allows more than 16 pieces?

Lots of potential reasons. For one, depending on the (software) architecture, it may be more computationally efficient to assume only legal positions (i.e. positions that can arise from the starting position and only legal moves). Efficiency is of supreme importance in the area of chess engines.

I think Chessmaster can do that. It's been years since I last used it, but I am pretty certain you could add as many pieces as you wanted.

I have CM9000 which doesn't allow it, but this is an old version of chessmaster and maybe newer ones have added the feature.

One more question on Arena..
Ive had a game played.. and now I want to copy the PGN (the list of moves of my game) to the clipboard and post it on the forum.
But just somehow... no matter how or where I search I CANT COPY THE *&^$&^$&^%$^&$&^%$^&$^%#%$#&%^% PGN to my clipboard.
Yes, I can get the entire 8 page analysis of it pasted... but nowhere a simpel "export moves", copy PGN option...
Can anybody tell me? I must have been lifting up the wrong rocks.
Thanks!!

Ill keep them in mind for when I buy a car
However.. maybe you can help me out even more I am able to copy all the analysis PGN to a diagram on chess.com, but I cant get 'clean' PGN.. just the notation of the played game. This should be easy on a chessengine?
Hey everyone,
Is there an engine that allows more than 16 pieces? I tried with Houdini, but it gives an error..
Hope there is one, thanks in advance :)
