ok, so my local library has a bunch of library books, but most of them are junk.

However, they have a few good ones.

Out of these 3 chess books, which ONE is the best and why?

1. Art of Attack in Chess by Vladimir Vukovic

2. Modern Chess Strategy by Ludek Pachman

3. Pawn Power in Chess by Hans Kmoch

thanks for the help

Modern Chess Strategy is well worth a read and study - followed by the Art of Attack in Chess. Both classics. I am working through the first one at moment.

You really can't compare them because:

1) They're about different subjects;

2) They're all very good!

yeah, but i can only get one at the moment so which is best??

Yes, a library card will let you check out 3 books at a time.  Give it a try sometime.

Based on your game history, I would go with the book by Kmoch.

agreed, found/find it not an easy book , but as such one u can rely on the whole career and everything in chess has somehow to do with pawn movements and positions as they are as a great player said the skeleton or soul of chess.

The rim pawn has no lee! That seems pretty obvious :)

I agree on going with Pachman. I wish someone would reprint the original 3 volume series. It would be interesting to see what was pulled from the abridgement of it to Modern Chess Strategy.
