Two ideas:

1) Sign up for an online chess tactics server such as Chesstempo.

2) Test yourself with online blitz-play.  Play 20-50 games and go over what kinds of tactical mistakes (use an engine to figure where you went wrong) you are making. Focus on solving more puzzles/problems related to those themes.

I believe both (Tempo, Trainer) have their merits ... though I've seen more people laud Tempo as the definitive online tactics trainer.

Tempo will allow you to make custom problem sets and flip the board to practice tactics from "the opponents' view", but then you psyche yourself out with all these possible different tactical motif sets...but once you get to 2-3-move tactical sequences or higher, the tactical motifs all blend together anyway (it seems that way to me, but keep in mind my rating).

The chief benefit of tempo I think is the ability to select mates from non-mate tactics and the ability to make custom sets based on difficulty level (e.g. all problems rated from 0-1000, then 1000-1010, then 1010-1020), which I wish we could do here, but since the Tactics Trainer already tailors problems around your skill level, it is likely unnecessary.

In addition, I think it is kind of cool that Tactics Trainer uses user games, because you can see all sorts of weird tactical positions and therefore you need to work both pattern recognition and calculation in unfamiliar situations as opposed to computers who will play very logical moves (in general).  All in all, I don't really see a clear benefit of Tempo over Tactics Trainer (except the endgames problems which are not on this sit but should be), though it could seem that way based on the bells and whistles.  Then again, at my level, maybe less is more and if I was rated 2000 or higher, some of those features may appeal to me more.  Also, Tempo allows you to visualize alternate lines of play following the tactical sequence, but I am too novice to see the benefit of such alternate lines and have my hands full enough with just the tactics I miss.
