how much money is too much money to pay for wood pieces to use on a good vinyl board?

Why would there be an upper limit?
The full size set I carry around, when I want a full size set with me is an unweighted Dubrovnik made by RCM, in a soft drawstring bag, with a silicone board stuffed in there or a vinyl board rolled up somewhere else.
That set costs around 220 euros.
A really robust, very lightweight combination that is a joy to play with. Looks and feels great.
That's a lot of bang for your buck in terms of portability and playability.
