Any teachers teach by playing a game with students?

Just curious if there are any teachers who teach chess by playing games with students and analyzing their moves and mistakes, etc. Years ago, when I was learning chess in school this is how I was taught. Several teachers who are Masters and Grand Masters will not teach this way. They will not play a game with me. Why is this? I'm considering lessons and trying to understand what styles and methods various teachers may teach.

Hey Curt!

We can offer you training suited to your needs. While I am not a GM, I am a growing 2150 and an understanding teacher. If you would like a more play-focused approach, we can explore that. Additionally, for you to explore our methods, we can schedule a trial lesson. I have sent you a PM. Looking forward to a reply!

Thanks,

Hey! I can do that. I'll give you instant feedback on where your thinking is wrong and how to fix it.

The difference between you and a GM is just too big. While it might be appealing it is not clear where the benefit is.

Your opponents think very differently from tge players that teach you.

According to my opinion, coaches who play with students usually tend to be lazy and without a clear plan.

Far more important are analysis of one's own games against peers (with a similar rating).
