I am a new student and so far the lessons have been great. FM Charlie has looked over a couple of my games and gave me great insight as to how I could have improved my play. Sure, you can look at the engine lines but the engine will not be there to explain the ideas behind the suggested move.
I am tired of wasting valuable time studying topics that I may or may not need to spend my time on. For an adult with responsibilities and limited time, having a good coach to guide you as to what to study makes all the difference. I can only imagine if I had more time to study while being guided in the right direction.
Hi I am interested in working with students online for $25 an hour.
I am FM. I play sometimes here on chess.com other times on the internet chess club (chessclub.com) known as the ICC.
I have loads of books on PDF and PGN. It means I can recommend literature which you go through with your chessbase reader which is free for download at chessbase.com/support/downloads or with your kindle/book reader in the comfort of your home or relaxing environment like your evening couch.
I also have a lot of content which I give my students, in addition to books, I have databases which are encyclopedias of positions in pgn/digital format.
This means your getting your Chess Phd in content in digital format from the encyclopedias and complimentary publishers.
I have about 14gigabytes of positions/commercial databases ready to share.
I also have chess videos which are estimated at about $2000 retail value. One is a collection of a distinguished russian gm. there are about 115 of his videos. Another one is a collection of opening videos created by a notable video publisher.
Lastly, we can work for 1 hours at a time, where we do a lesson for the first hour and then with the remaining time on the hour we play games for the remainder of the time. I see you play here in chess.com and we talk about the games as they happen. 10 minutes games, what ever. we articulate our thoughts and verbalize everything to make it as instructive as possible.
I can teach you your openings, middlegames, endgames. etc. most importantly, I can teach you how to study these phases of the game on your own so you can be an evolving aspiring semi-professional, future pro.
We can even read books together, where we go through the positions in the book on the lesson and in 10 lessons time we are done with a book. Simply by doing all the diagrams in the book.
I have files with all the positions of common chess books, and know where to find this documentation when needed. so by using these files of the positions of a book, I can articulate/verbalize all the teachings of a book per position and go through an entire book in no time, or in 10 lessons time.
I can sometimes record the lessons for us using camtasia, and then we save to mp4. a lighter extension to save on file size. I am speculative as to how valuable that could be. you could have your live chess lessons, and the recording of it. it might work. you could get to keep them.
Alternatively, through skype you can record the lessons to save them for future use, refreshers, and plain old archiving.
Let me know, I am all ears, and ready to help.
Thanks,
FM Charles Galofre.

P.S.
***as a student, or new student, I will send you a flashdrive with all my books, videos, and positions databases. I can teach you how to use it all in a moments worth. I send it to you at the cost of the flashdrive, plus the time it takes me to upload the 70GB of information through a USB 3.0 computer***
there is a curriculum there on my positions databases which is exclusively to develop as an endgame player. I can show you how to reach IM GM strength on the endgame by using my files.
I will send all this to you for a nominal fee, of the flashdrive, plus the time it takes me to upload the files and go to the post office.
