For what it's worth, I know chess.com provides this URL: https://www.chess.com/coaches
And this guy @bgabor91 has been somewhat aggressively advertising his coaching services on the forum recently. He seems pretty motivated.

Thank you for the response and feedback! I did know there was a Coaches Section on Chess.com that allowed you to browse through coaches, however, I was wondering if anyone out there had certain chess coach recommendations from that pool of coaches. (It's nice to include a link to that section in this forum though!)
I also looked into @bgabor91, at your recommendation and he looks like a strong coach that I may seek out. Thank you for that!
I wish the coaching section here included the hourly rate. Obviously no one wants to contact a dozen coaches just to find out their rate when it should just be provided in their profile.
Hello
I would Like to introduce myself as a chess coach, I have started coaching online 2 weeks ago. I've been taking a hiatus from playing tournament chess since 2014. Have been play casually online until now.
My current rating is floating between 1600-1700. I mainly play blitz due to its convince and flexibility compared to other time controls.
Coaching philosophy: I am the rudder of the boat, steering students in the right direction. The speed of the boat is out of my control, how fast the student wants to improve is entirety up to them.
1) Target Coaching Range
Beginner - 1500.
At 1500 I will refer them to a stronger coach, who is able to strengthen their early game.
2) Coaching Program
Focusing on tactics and fundamentals of chess. The goal of the program is to build strong a tactual foundation for students. (mid game).
Lesson Plan ( lesson 1 )
Warm up drills
Review of your passed games (to see what needs improving)
Tactics (Overview)
Opening Principles
Discussion on chess.
Homework will be provided until next lesson.
Lesson are typically 1 hour long, 1-2 weeks between lessons.
3) Pricing
Currently Lessons are at $10.
However this may change depending on the amount of students and class size.
4) Accessibility/Compatibility
I can coach in English (Kiwi) and Thai.
Time zone in Australian Eastern Standard Time, QLD (GMT+10).
I have two students in North America.
5) Results
One student started at 400 and is now 600, after one lesson with me. The biggest sign of his improvement was that he started king hunting and checkmating in the middle of the board.
Please feel free to give me a message if you're interested.
Hi everyone I saw that you mentioned me in this forum
Yes, I advertise myself actively because I love teaching, I am motivated and searching for more and more students
Everyone can check my profile and moreover I collected some feedbacks from my pupils:
„And yes, I really am very excited about how well my game as improved since we started! I've won like 9 out of my last 10 games, several of which were opponents 200 or more points higher than me. I constantly find myself in better positions, making better trades, and making moves with more intentionality as products of your guidance. As i play, I listen for your voice in my head (often: "Naaa I don't really like it!" or "MMmmmm Its a bit passive!" haha) When I do those, the actual points/pieces have a way of just falling magically into my lap.” (Jason Pidcock)
„Good stuff. You are making me a much better player! ....Even if i can't figure out a damn pawn/king endgame no matter how many times you torture me with it....” (Jason Pidcock)
„Of course, happy to do it! I've enjoyed our lessons tremendously so far and think I'm getting a lot better. I just beat a ~2050 on lichess yesterday. They blundered at the end of the middle game, but I had played Sicilian and I think I was in a decent position for a draw anyways! (Kyler Hasson)
„Had a few lessons with Gabor, had to say he was very prepared and the material he provided was very high quality, Gabor also explained the ideas and variations in great detail, overall had very good experience with him as a coach. Definitely one of the better value coaches in the market!” (Anthony Chan)
„I have had about 5 lessons with Gabor by now and he is great! He is very patient and makes sure you understand and progress! He also prepares every lesson before we start.” (Kunal Mehta)
Gábor is an excellent teacher and I would recommend him to anybody. I've worked with a few people and he's hands down the best. He's been teaching me openings, strategic plans, tactics, and endgames. Importantly, he's also teaching me the fundamentals of each. I've been rapidly improving - I went from a ~1500 on chess.com to a ~1950 on lichess in just a few weeks. I couldn't recommend Gábor enough. (Kyler Hasson)
„I have been taking lessons from Gabor for a couple months now. I have been so happy with the improvements in my game since starting. Previously, I would always find myself making trades because there was nothing better to do, or moving pieces without a ton of purpose because I simply didn't see opportunities on the current board. Now I find myself trading much more strategically, and moving with much more intentionality. As a result I happen to find myself in more comfortable positions, gaining material with less effort exerted, and my score creeping upward where it had once stalled. On top of that he's a fun and pleasant guy. I always look forward to my next lesson with Gabor!” (Jason Pidcock)
If you are interested in working with me, you can always write me

Hi! I know it might be a bit late but wanted to post here and let you all know that if you are a beginner looking to improve, I am also offering coaching at affordable and flexible rates while focusing on strategies that would help you improve positionally, in endgames, and more. As a coach, I provide 1 on 1 lessons that allow students to learn more about the strengths of each piece (depending on the position), key concepts that provide an understanding of how / when / where to attack, and analysis of games. As lesson are private, the plans are adjustable and if you want to instead work more on tactical play or analyze your games, anything is possible.
Please check out my profile to learn more about my experience or email me at shubindani@gmail.com if you are interested. Looking forward to hearing from you and helping you progress your rating.
I teach students from beginner to 2000. I only take 5-10$ - I have a youtube channel for anybody to look into before paying anything. English and German. Time zone doesn't matter, it will be possible. I know you asked for recommendations, but I really can only recommend myself after having taken a lot of classes with masters, that were really bad at explaining things.
BLUF: I would like recommendations of Chess Coaches here on Chess.com or elsewhere!
Hello Everyone!
I wanted to make a post that accomplished a few things. First, I wanted to gather recommendations for online chess coaches here on Chess.com for my own personal use. Second, I wanted this post to be useful to others who are searching through the hundreds of chess coaches without any idea who to use! Lastly, I wanted to provide a thread in which potential Coaches can recommend themselves and see what criteria potential students are in search of.
A couple of factors to consider when giving recommendations:
1) Target Coaching Range ( For example what rating should the student be <1200, 1200-1500, etc.)
2) Pricing/Coaching Program (Is the pricing reasonable? Program accessible and easy to follow?)
3) Accessibility/Compatibility (Primary language of the coach/time zone.)
Thank you for any and all recommendations! Feel free to recommend any additional criteria to list coaches by.
As for my own credentials as a student: I would say I am ~1100 with a decent/loose understanding of the chess fundamentals. I am hardworking and just looking for a structured program with some expert oversight and guidance.
