Yes. I get what you are saying. it is true that it's possible you can be better at some particular things compared to higher-rated players. That's why we need a coach who is ideally 400-600+ or higher rated coaches. Because if you compare yourself with let's say 600+ rated coach then it is most likely that he is better at almost all aspects of the game.
Strength of coach

Apologies in advance if this has been discussed already but upon a couple searches nothing came up. The question I have is how much stronger than you should your chess coach be. I don't necessarily believe the stronger player is the better coach.
I am roughly 1200-1400 OTB and I am considering a coach. I feel that I have some areas of my game that are stronger than others and would like someone who could help identify the weaker areas and give me a plan to improve. For example, I had a higher rated friend point out that I should work on tactics and visualization and after 4 weeks or so of tactics I saw a marked improvement in my game. Now I back to picking up random knowledge which helps but...
Would a 1800 rating be someone that could help? Should I be looking for 2000+?
Please avoid 1) pointing out that Carlsen's coach is lower rated as I clearly have a lot to learn relative to a super GM, 2) that I can learn a bunch of stuff for free (youtube, chess.com, etc) as I am doing that but want someone to help identify my weaknesses and direct my focus.
